One of the other key players, Yamada Nagamasa, the powerful Japanese samurai of Ayutthaya, is seen as a significant threat. To maneuver him out of the way, he is sent to Ligor to suppress a rebellion.

Stumbled upon by accident while looking for antiques in the Thai countryside, the last remaining clue to a treasure buried in the last weeks of Yamada’s life sends Peter Prins and his long-time friend Somrak Noonsuk, a retired Thai police inspector, on a pirate treasure hunt in the south of Thailand.
